Supper Suggestion: Glazed Pork Chops

May 2, 2018

Supper Suggestion: Glazed Pork Chops

This week’s supper suggestion is these glazed pork chops. They are sweet, spicy, and delicious. When my 11-year-old asked if we could have these for dinner every single night, I knew this had to be the recipe I shared with you this week! I’ve mentioned before how much I adore Budget Bytes, and these pork chops are just another reason why!

I served them with blackened green beans (we love them really done and blackened). That was all I had time for, but it was plenty considering the bold flavor of the pork chops.

The recipe calls for thick pork chops, but I buy thin and they are fantastic! I just skip the step of putting them in the oven, because they completely cook through in the skillet.

Also, these are a tad on the spicy side. You could omit the spicier ingredients to accommodate the kids. I left the seasoning off of a couple of them for my 7-year-old, but since I cooked them in the same skillet, he still tasted the spice. Ooops.

VERDICT:

Me: I love these, and I love that there’s no prep required, they cook quickly, the spices are those that I regularly have on-hand, and just about any sides would go well with these.

Hubs: He loves these!

11 and 7-Year-Olds: My oldest LOVES these (as I mentioned earlier), and they’re a little too spicy for the 7-year-old. Next time I’ll rinse the pan before cooking his uncoated pork chops.

2-Year-Old: Hard pass. He says he “can’t like it.” LOL! He says “can’t” instead of “don’t” all the time. “I can’t like this…I can’t want to,” etc. It’s hilarious.

Leftovers: I bought a large package of thinly sliced pork chops, so we did have leftovers, and I sent some in my 11-year-old’s lunch with leftover mac n’ cheese the next day, and my husband ate the rest for lunch. They are just as good the next day!
